Upon the death of Lillian Little Soldier Klaudt in March of 2001 at age 95, and the passing of Rev. R. H. Klaudt at age 94 the following July of 2001, The Klaudt Indian Memorial Foundation was established by the Klaudt Siblings in honor of their Parents.
It was the desire of the Klaudt Children to continue the ministry and message of Christ that was so dear to their parents heart. Education of their children was a basic criterion in the lives of Mom and Dad Klaudt.
So the Mission Statement of the Foundation is simply put:
Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. (Proverbs 22:6)
The purposes, for which The Klaudt Indian Memorial Foundation organized, are exclusively to provide:
- Support for missions and missionaries to Native Americans
- Health programs (such as drug and alcohol programs) for Native Americans
- College scholarships for Native Americans and Non-Indians in the area of Gospel Music
The criteria for college scholarships shall always be weighted to the Native American.
Most statistics reveal that Indian youth on Indian reservations are some of the most susceptible conduits of drug, alcohol and suicide in the world. It is the intentions of the Foundation to begin making inroads into this abuse through strong spiritual and educational methodology one student at a time.
The Klaudt Indian Memorial Foundation is classified as a public charity and is exempt from Federal income tax under section 501 (c) (3) of the code and all donations have been determined to be tax deductible.
